Hi, due to audio playback problems with the nvaudio driver, I've looked deeper into the ALSA ac97 support. The only problem I found was the ac97 mixer initialization, which I successfully commented out (hehe ;), and now audio support seems to work pretty well (I tested mplayer, scummvm and sdlquake). Appended is a patch for alsa 0.9.0rc3, and here is the installation instruction: # rmmod nvaudio # wget ftp://ftp.alsa-project.org/pub/driver/alsa-driver-0.9.0rc3.tar.bz2 # tar xjf alsa-driver-0.9.0rc3.tar.bz2 # cd alsa-driver-0.9.0rc3 # patch -sp1 < ../alsa-driver-0.9.0rc3-xbox.diff # ./configure --with-isapnp=no --with-oss=yes --with-cards=intel8x0 # make install # modprobe snd-intel8x0 snd-pcm-oss (You might still need alsa-lib, -utils and -tools.) This is a quick and dirty hack and I expect that any mixer access will do horrible things to you and your Xbox, so I don't take responsibility for anything you do with this code. Feedback is appreciated. regards, Georg -- "Georg Lukas" _____ Ge0rG on IRCnet, euIRC and OPN --------------------------------' '------------------------------- GCS/CM d? s: a-- C+++ UL+++ P--- L+++(++) E--- W+ N++ o?
